Common Faults and Corrections in Pitching - Baseball Videos

Offers a comprehensive review of common faults that occur in the throwing process, reasons for each of those faults, and specific guidelines for correcting each fault. Among the faults covered in this video are: Command and off-speed execution (i.e., balls high in the zone, off-speed up in the zone, or the breaking balls too loopy), directional (minimal-to-inconsistent command of pitches in and out of zone), stride (too open, too closed), balance phase #3 ? power or launch position (poor balance, weight to frontside), imbalance in approach and posture (arching back, head tilting, and frontside fly out), upper-body aggressive (no lower-body assistance), balance phase #4 ? release to follow-through (falling off to glove side and not completing delivery), balance phase #5 ? finish (flat back finish), and lower-half faults (pushing off too early). From Fred Corral of the University of Tennessee. 64 minutes. Copyright 2004.
